Hyderabad's New Eco-Hill Park

Hyderabad's 80-acre Himayatsagar Eco-Hill Park at Kothwalguda features birdlife, butterfly gardens, walking trails, and Asia's largest aviary. It's ₹100 for adult entry, open 9AM-6PM daily.

The Eco-Hill Park, inaugurated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, spans 85 acres near Himayat Sagar. Developed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) at a cost of ₹75 crore, it aims to promote eco-tourism and provide a relaxing space for residents. The park houses nearly 10 lakh plants, creating a lush green environment. A key attraction is the 1.5-kilometer elevated boardwalk, constructed with composite wood and 2.5 meters wide. HMDA officials claim it’s the longest elevated boardwalk in India. The park also features an Arrival Plaza built with Konkan bamboo and a Gathering Plaza with artistic sculptures. The park's aviary, spread across 4.8 acres, is considered one of Asia's largest bird exhibition spaces. It houses approximately 6,500 birds from 25 species originating from Asia, Africa, South America, and Australia. Other features include a children's play area, a butterfly garden, and a rock garden with drought-resistant flora. An adventure zone is set to be introduced, spanning 6.04 acres, with activities like a sky bridge, roller coaster zip line and climbing wall. The estimated cost of the adventure zone is ₹15 crore, and it's expected to be completed within 12 months of the agreement date. The park also has plans for resorts, food courts, and restaurants. The park is open from 9 AM to 6 PM. Entry fees are ₹100 on weekdays and ₹200 on weekends. A bird show is available for an additional ₹150.
