Arsenal Five Points Clear

Arsenal claimed a tense 2-1 victory over Chelsea with Jurriën Timber scoring the decisive goal to put the Gunners five points clear at the top of the Premier League table. The win keeps Arsenal in the driver's seat as the season enters the final stretch, while Manchester United moved up to third place in the league standings.

Arsenal's victory was heavily influenced by their dominance from set-piece situations. The Gunners have now scored 16 goals from corners in the Premier League this season, which equals the record for a single campaign. This was the ninth time this season that an Arsenal goal from a corner has been the match-winner, setting a new Premier League record. The decisive goal came from an unlikely source in defender Jurriën Timber, who headed in a Declan Rice corner in the 66th minute. This was Timber's third goal of the season in 28 league appearances. The Dutch international has been a consistent performer for Arsenal, playing 2,329 minutes and also contributing four assists. For Chelsea, the loss halted a six-match unbeaten run in the league under new manager Liam Rosenior. Their disciplinary issues continued as Pedro Neto was sent off for a second yellow card, marking Chelsea's seventh red card in the Premier League and ninth across all competitions this season. Meanwhile, Manchester United's ascent to third in the table comes after a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, extending their unbeaten streak to seven games, which includes six wins. Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško has been in prolific form, scoring his seventh goal in his last eight appearances for the club. United's captain Bruno Fernandes was also pivotal, scoring a penalty and providing the assist for Šeško's winner.
