Campers improve reservation behavior

The Dyrt’s 2026 Camping Report shows improved camper reservation behavior with fewer no-shows and late arrivals in 2025 Modern Campground.

The Dyrt's report indicates that while 21.5% of reservations experienced some form of modification, such as date changes or cancellations, this rate is an improvement over previous years. This suggests that campers are becoming more deliberate and thoughtful when making reservations. The reduction in no-shows and late arrivals could be attributed to increased awareness campaigns by campgrounds and reservation platforms. Many campgrounds now send reminder emails and texts, and clearly outline their cancellation policies. Campgrounds are also implementing stricter cancellation policies, which may be contributing to the improved reservation behavior. Some campgrounds now charge a fee for cancellations made within a certain timeframe.
