Marathon's Halo Easter Eggs
Bungie snuck Halo weaponry references into Marathon Bungie snuck a bunch of Halo guns into Marathon and questlines won't be vaulted like in Destiny 2 Bungie doesn't want Marathon to repeat Destiny 2's vaulting controversy.
The Marathon reboot includes nods to the original trilogy, like the SPNKR rocket launcher, which now appears as a Marathon-style weapon. The MA-75 assault rifle is also present, modified to fit the new game's aesthetic. These Easter eggs connect Marathon to the wider Bungie universe, rewarding long-time fans. It reinforces the idea that, despite being separate franchises, Halo and Marathon share a common lineage and design philosophy. Unlike Destiny 2, Marathon will not be removing or "vaulting" any of its questlines. Bungie wants to ensure a consistent experience for all players, regardless of when they join the game.
