Stephen King Western Hits Hulu

'Killing Faith,' a supernatural western backed by Stephen King, is set to premiere on Hulu in March 2026. The adaptation blends frontier drama with 'quasi-supernatural' thriller elements, bringing King's horror mastery to the classic western format on a major streaming platform.

The film, which lands on Hulu on March 6, 2026, first premiered at Beyond Fest in September 2025 before a theatrical run in October of the same year. It was previously available on paid video-on-demand platforms like Amazon Prime Video and YouTube. Stephen King's involvement is as a vocal supporter, not as the author of the source material. He praised the Ned Crowley-directed film on social media, comparing the "quasi-supernatural western" to the work of novelist Cormac McCarthy. King specifically highlighted the movie's opening scene as "an authentic shocker." The story is set in 1859 and follows a formerly enslaved woman named Sarah, played by DeWanda Wise. She seeks the help of a hardened doctor, played by Guy Pearce, for her daughter who is believed to be cursed, as every living thing she touches mysteriously dies. The cast is rounded out by veteran actor Bill Pullman, along with Raoul Trujillo, Joanna Cassidy, and Josh McDermitt of 'The Walking Dead' fame. The film was written and directed by Ned Crowley, whose previous work includes the 2016 crime thriller 'Middle Man'. Principal photography for the western thriller took place in and around Santa Fe, New Mexico, beginning in January 2024. The production employed over 100 New Mexico residents, including crew members and background talent. Upon its initial release, 'Killing Faith' garnered positive reviews from critics. The film holds a 76% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with reviewers citing its unique premise and strong performances.
