Spring Theater Season Promises Abundance

The upcoming spring theater season is being described as one of the "best times in recent memory" for theatergoers, with stages across major cities debuting "a fresh wave of enticing productions." The season promises "a rich variety of must-see performances" from both innovative new plays and star-driven revivals.

- A major revival of Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" will star Nathan Lane as Willy Loman and Laurie Metcalf as Linda Loman. Previews are set to begin on March 6, with the official opening on April 9 at the Winter Garden Theatre. - The musical adaptation of the 1987 cult classic film "The Lost Boys" is set to premiere, following brothers who move to a town plagued by vampires. Two-time Tony winner Michael Arden is directing the production which begins previews on March 27. - London's West End will feature a new adaptation of "Dracula" starring Cynthia Erivo, who will play 26 different roles in the one-woman show. This marks her first role in the West End in over a decade. - The hit off-Broadway musical parody "Titaníque," which lovingly skewers the film "Titanic" with Céline Dion's music, is transferring to Broadway. The production will star co-creator Marla Mindelle, alongside Jim Parsons and Deborah Cox. - A revival of David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Proof" will star Don Cheadle and Ayo Edebiri. The play, which deals with mental illness and a mathematical genius's legacy, has not been on Broadway since its premiere in 2000. - "Stranger Things" star Sadie Sink will make her UK stage debut as Juliet opposite Noah Jupe as Romeo in a new version of "Romeo & Juliet" in London, directed by Robert Icke. - A reimagined version of the musical "Cats," titled "Cats: The Jellicle Ball," is coming to Broadway after a successful Off-Broadway run. This new production infuses the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber score with the culture of the Harlem Ballroom scene. - The camp classic "The Rocky Horror Show" is returning to Broadway's Studio 54, with Luke Evans starring as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The revival is directed by Tony-winner Sam Pinkleton.
