Schiaparelli at the V&A
The V&A just opened a major Elsa Schiaparelli retrospective — the first UK show devoted to her and it features over 400 objects that trace her surrealist collaborations and couture innovations. The show pulls in Dalí partnerships, Daniel Roseberry’s contemporary pieces and marquee items like the lobster dress and the gown Ariana Grande wore to the 2025 Oscars — a real art‑meets‑fashion moment. The V&A’s Sainsbury Gallery opens the show on Saturday, 28 March 2026, with weekday tickets priced at £28 and weekend tickets at £30. (vam.ac.uk)) The exhibition was assembled by senior V&A fashion curator Sonnet Stanfill alongside Lydia Caston and Rosalind McKever in close collaboration with Maison Schiaparelli. (fashionunited.uk)) V&A and press coverage list a detailed breakdown of the displays as more than 100 ensembles and around 50 works of art presented alongside accessories, furniture, perfumes and archive material. (fashionunited.uk)) Loans include items from the V&A’s own holdings, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, private collectors and the House of Schiaparelli, with several high‑value pieces transported specially for the run. (fashionunited.uk)) The museum highlights its 1938 Skeleton dress as the only known surviving example from that design and confirms it is shown from the V&A’s permanent collection. (fashionunited.uk)) The run is scheduled through 8 November 2026 and is accompanied by a five‑week online course offered by the V&A as well as an exhibition book and related merchandise available via the V&A shop.
