AgentPass Rebrands as Paz.ai
San Francisco startup AgentPass has rebranded to Paz.ai to better reflect its mission. The company builds infrastructure to connect e-commerce catalogs directly to AI shopping agents like ChatGPT and Google's AI Mode.
The founding team behind Paz.ai has a track record in building critical e-commerce infrastructure. CEO Dor Shany and his co-founder previously started Gigya, a customer identity management platform acquired by SAP in 2017, and more recently founded OwnID, a passwordless authentication startup which was acquired by Brazilian unicorn Unico in 2025. Paz.ai is tackling the problem of retailer invisibility within AI shopping agents. The company's platform serves as a translation layer, ingesting product feeds from systems like Shopify and Salesforce and reformatting them for AI-native protocols such as OpenAI's ACP, Anthropic's MCP, and Google's UCP. This ensures a retailer's catalog is understandable and accessible to these new shopping channels. The core technical challenge lies in structuring unstructured product data for machine interpretation. An AI agent, unlike a human shopper, cannot infer meaning from a blurry photo or ambiguous product description; it requires clean, structured data to make a recommendation. Paz.ai's system is designed to enrich and optimize this data, turning basic product information into content that large language models can effectively use. The company is backed by venture capital firms Mayfield and Cervin Ventures. Mayfield has a history of early-stage investments in notable tech companies like Lyft and HashiCorp and has recently raised nearly $1 billion across two new funds for early-stage and Series B investments. The push into "agentic commerce" is accelerating, with an estimated 50 million shopping queries now happening daily on ChatGPT alone. Major players are moving quickly; in one week in February 2026, Bloomberg and Harvard Business Review highlighted the trend, and Canada's largest grocer, Loblaw, announced integrations with both Google's AI Mode and ChatGPT. This rapid development signals a significant shift in e-commerce that Paz.ai is positioned to address.
