CoreWeave backs Anthropic deal

CoreWeave announced a multiyear agreement to support Anthropic’s Claude models, a move that CoreWeave said boosted its stock in market coverage this week. The social post linking the deal framed it as a capacity and commercial partnership for Anthropic model hosting. (x.com)

CoreWeave said on April 10 that Anthropic signed a multiyear deal to run Claude on CoreWeave’s cloud, with capacity coming online later in 2026. (investors.coreweave.com) The companies said the agreement covers the development and deployment of Anthropic’s Claude family of models, and CoreWeave described the rollout as phased with room to expand over time. (coreweave.com) CoreWeave did not disclose the value of the Anthropic contract. On April 10, CoreWeave shares rose 11% after the announcement, according to CNBC. (cnbc.com) The deal adds another major customer for a company that rents specialized cloud capacity for artificial intelligence work, using large clusters of Nvidia graphics processing units in its data centers. CoreWeave said Anthropic becomes the ninth of the top 10 artificial intelligence model providers on its platform. (investors.coreweave.com) Anthropic builds Claude, a family of large language models sold through consumer subscriptions, enterprise plans, and application programming interfaces for developers. Anthropic’s pricing page lists Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise tiers, alongside separate application programming interface pricing. (anthropic.com) The agreement came one day after CoreWeave announced a separate expanded contract with Meta worth about $21 billion through December 2032. CoreWeave said that Meta capacity will be deployed across multiple locations and include some early Nvidia Vera Rubin systems. (investors.coreweave.com) That burst of dealmaking lands less than 13 months after CoreWeave’s public offering. CoreWeave said in its March 28, 2025 listing announcement that its shares would begin trading on Nasdaq under the symbol CRWV. (investors.coreweave.com) CoreWeave has been financing that expansion with heavy borrowing. CNBC reported that the company had $21 billion of debt at the end of 2025, added $8.5 billion in financing in March 2026, and then announced another $3 billion debt raise tied to the Meta buildout. (cnbc.com) For Anthropic, the new supplier broadens the list of companies helping it secure computing power as demand for Claude grows. CoreWeave said the new compute for Anthropic will start coming online later this year. (investors.coreweave.com)
