Air Canada on Tuesday unveiled a new cabin design it says will roll out across its fleet, starting with new Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-10 jets. (aircanada.com) The airline announced the redesign on April 14, 2026 at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany, calling it its “most significant cabin investment.” Air Canada said the first aircraft with the new look will enter service later this summer on the Airbus A321XLR, with the Boeing 787-10 to follow when that model joins the fleet. (aircanada.com) The biggest hardware change on the Airbus A321XLR is lie-flat Signature Class seating on a single-aisle jet, which Air Canada said is a first in Canada. On the Boeing 787-10, the airline plans a new Signature Plus Suite with more space, higher privacy walls, a larger bed and a guest seat. Premium Economy will add extended privacy wings, according to the carrier. (aircanada.com) The redesign lands as Air Canada expands its fleet plan around the Airbus A321XLR, a longer-range narrow-body aircraft the airline has said will open new trans-Atlantic markets and support premium service on North America transcontinental flights. Air Canada published a feature on February 27, 2026 marking the first flight of its initial A321XLR in Hamburg. (aircanada.com; aircanada.com) The cabin push also extends beyond long-haul aircraft. In September 2025, Air Canada said 25 De Havilland Dash 8-400 regional aircraft operated by Jazz would get new seating, new interiors and, on some routes, free Wi-Fi, with refurbishment continuing through 2026. (newswire.ca) Air Canada has been updating parts of its narrow-body fleet for several years. In October 2023, it unveiled a refurbished Airbus A321 interior with larger bins, redesigned seats, Bluetooth audio and free high-speed internet, features that the airline said would also be installed on Airbus A321XLR aircraft. (newswire.ca) The visual identity of the new cabins leans on Canadian motifs, with Air Canada and outside reports pointing to maple-leaf lighting on the A321XLR and an entryway on the 787-10 inspired by Canadian waterways. Air Canada said more changes to onboard food, beverages and service will be announced later in 2026. (toronto.citynews.ca; aircanada.com)
