Major League Volleyball Hires First Commissioner

Major League Volleyball has appointed Jaime Weston as its first-ever Commissioner. The move marks a key moment for the three-year-old league as it aims to elevate the profile of professional women's volleyball in the U.S.

Jaime Weston brings a wealth of experience from major sports and entertainment brands to this new role. She previously served as the Chief Commercial Officer for USA Volleyball and spent over 15 years in the marketing department of the National Football League (NFL). At the NFL, she was instrumental in managing the league's brand, working with 32 teams, and modernizing the iconic NFL shield. Her background also includes executive positions at Universal Music Group, where she was the Executive Vice President of Global Consumer Marketing, and at the experiential hospitality company On Location. Weston, who played volleyball at Georgia Tech, has a history of focusing on fan growth and building brand strategy. Major League Volleyball, now in its third season, has seen significant growth, recently surpassing one million in total attendance. The league expanded its national presence following an August 2025 merger with the Pro Volleyball Federation and the recent launch of the Dallas Pulse. The league currently has eight teams located in top 45 media markets and is poised for further expansion. Three new franchises in Minnesota, Sacramento, and Washington D.C. are slated to join in 2027, which will bring the total number of teams to eleven. This growth is supported by ownership groups that include experienced operators from other professional sports leagues. As commissioner, Weston's initial focus will be on the on-court product and broadcast presentation. The league has a broadcast portfolio that includes deals with CBS, Roku, Vice, and Ion, signaling a strategic push for wider visibility.
