UFC Plans $60M White House Event

UFC announced plans for a unique event at the White House with a projected budget of $60 million, according to TKO Group Holdings. The investment reflects the promotion's intent to stage an unprecedented spectacle blending politics and MMA, though no fight card or participating athletes have been announced.

The event is scheduled for June 14, 2026, on the South Lawn of the White House, a date that coincides with Flag Day and the 80th birthday of former President Donald Trump. The historic card is being framed as part of the United States' 250th anniversary celebrations. This marks the first time a professional sporting event will be staged at the presidential residence. The ambitious production plan includes having fighters walk out from the Oval Office to the Octagon. While a limited number of spectators, estimated between 3,000 and 5,000, are expected on the lawn, there are plans for large screens at the nearby Ellipse park to accommodate up to 85,000 fans. The $60 million price tag makes this the most expensive event in UFC history, dwarfing the approximately $20 million spent on the "Noche UFC" event at the Las Vegas Sphere. TKO Group Holdings does not expect the event to be profitable, aiming to recoup about half of the cost through corporate partnerships and viewing it as a strategic investment for global exposure. The event underscores the long-standing relationship between UFC CEO Dana White and Donald Trump. White has been a vocal supporter, speaking at Republican National Conventions and donating to pro-Trump political action committees. This connection dates back to 2001, when Trump's Taj Mahal in Atlantic City hosted UFC events when other venues would not. Due to the White House being federal property, the event will not be regulated by the District of Columbia Combat Sports Commission, which oversaw previous UFC events in the city. While no fights have been officially announced, Dana White has stated the card is "done." Rumors have circulated about potential matchups, including a lightweight title unification bout. The broadcast is expected to be primarily on Paramount+, with some preliminary fights potentially airing on CBS. Unlike typical UFC events, tickets for the White House card will not be available for public sale.
