US Club Soccer said on June 1 that its 2026 id2 National Selection International Tour will take selected boys and girls players born in 2012 to England from Aug. 13-23. The trip follows a two-step identification process that began with a national training camp in Chula Vista, California, in February and continued with a national selection camp in Fairfax, Virginia, from April 29 to May 3. The program is part of US Club Soccer’s id2 pathway, which the organization says is designed to identify elite youth players and place them in front of U.S. Soccer national team scouts. The England trip is all-expenses-paid, according to US Club Soccer’s announcement. ### How did the Chula Vista camp fit into the selection process? Chula Vista hosted the id2 National Training Camp for 2012-born girls from Feb. 11-15 and for 2012-born boys from Feb. 18-22, US Club Soccer said. The organization said more than 200 players took part in the week-long camp, which served as the first national stage after months of scouting in league play, showcases, events and club environments. (usclubsoccer.org) US Club Soccer said the player pool was then reduced to about 70 for the next stage in Northern Virginia. That later camp was described by the organization as the id2 National Selection Camp, with 68 players participating, including 32 boys from 25 clubs and 12 states and 36 girls from 29 clubs and 14 states. ### Who runs id2, and what is the program supposed to do? (usclubsoccer.org) US Club Soccer says id2 was established in 2004 as its National Identification and Development Program. The organization says the program gives elite youth players a route to be identified, developed and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer national team programs. The id2 program directors are Gerry McKeown for the boys side and Tricia Taliaferro for the girls side, according to the US Club Soccer program page. (soccerwire.com) US Club Soccer also says the 2025-26 cycle targets boys and girls born in 2012 and marks the final year of single-age-group programming. ### How many players were involved, and how were they found? More than 50 active scouts had been built into the id2 network within two months, and that number was expected to more than double in the coming months, US Club Soccer said in September 2025 when it announced the 2026 camp structure. (usclubsoccer.org) The organization said players were identified through national and regional events as well as direct scouting in club settings. Fairfax, Virginia, hosted the final domestic selection stage from April 29 to May 3. US Club Soccer said reaching that camp placed players in a group that included former id2 alumni such as Christian Pulisic, Tim Weah, Tyler Adams, Trinity Rodman and Mallory Swanson. ### What will happen on the England trip? England will host the 2026 id2 National Selection International Tour from Aug. 13-23, US Club Soccer said. (usclubsoccer.org) The organization said the trip returns id2 to the United Kingdom after a 2023 visit that included matches against Leeds United, Everton and West Brom. US Club Soccer has not, in the material reviewed, published the final touring roster or a match-by-match schedule for the August trip. (soccerwire.com) The organization said only that the selected players from the Fairfax camp would earn the all-expenses-paid international opportunity in England this summer. ### Where can families and clubs track what comes next? (soccerwire.com) US Club Soccer posts id2 updates on its program and events pages, including camp announcements, rosters and tour details. The next dated milestone in the current cycle is the England tour from Aug. 13-23, when the selected 2012-born players are scheduled to travel after the Chula Vista and Fairfax camps.
