Slice House Pizza to Open in Fremont
Slice House by Tony Gemignani, a fast-casual pizza chain, is opening a new location in Fremont. The restaurant, founded by a 13-time World Pizza Champion, will be located at 43456 Boscell Road, replacing a former Dog Haus.
- The new Fremont location is a homecoming for founder Tony Gemignani, who was born and raised in the city and graduated from Washington High School. The local franchise operators, Hersh Mahavni and Pritika Rajasanshi, also grew up in the Fremont area. - Slice House began a significant national expansion effort after launching its franchise program in July 2022, with plans for 150 new restaurants and more than 142 units already open or in development across states like California, Texas, and Tennessee. - The initial investment to open a Slice House franchise ranges from approximately $406,300 to $1.15 million, which includes a $30,000 franchise fee. Franchisees also pay ongoing fees, including a 6% royalty and a 2% marketing contribution from gross sales. - To support its rapid growth, the company is investing in a modern marketing technology stack, including a new website, a mobile app, a customer loyalty program managed by Paytronix, and multi-location digital marketing tools from SOCi. - Gemignani is the first American and non-Neapolitan to be named World Champion Pizza Maker at the World Pizza Cup in Naples, Italy. He is also the proprietor of the International School of Pizza, where he trains and certifies chefs. - The fast-casual menu is a spin-off of Gemignani's full-service restaurant, Tony's Pizza Napoletana, and is designed for scalability. It typically features New York, Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit-style pizzas, along with pastas and salads. - For each new restaurant opening, Tony Gemignani develops a unique specialty pizza exclusive to that location.
