Freight Fraud Prevention Hub Launched
The National Motor Freight Traffic Association introduced a Freight Fraud Prevention Hub with resources to help avoid scams and false loads.
The hub offers best practices, education, and a reporting tool to help carriers and brokers avoid falling victim to fraud. It also provides resources for identifying and reporting fraudulent activity, aiming to create a safer environment for all industry stakeholders. The NMFTA developed the hub in response to the increasing sophistication and frequency of freight fraud schemes. These schemes can result in significant financial losses, cargo theft, and compromised safety for trucking companies and their drivers. Education is a key component, with the hub offering materials to help industry professionals recognize red flags and avoid scams. This proactive approach aims to empower carriers and brokers to make informed decisions and protect themselves from fraudulent actors.
