Paris Marathon: plastic-free

The 49th Marathon de Paris will host a record 60,000 runners and — for the first time — go completely plastic-free: every participant must bring their own hydration container for the April 12 race. (paris.fr) Organizers added new refill water stations and detailed hydration guidance, and French Olympic champion Laure Manaudou will make her marathon debut this year. (jogging-international.net)

Organisers mapped 13 refreshment points on the route: nine full refreshment stations, four dedicated water points, one full station at the finish and two designated Ta Energy electrolyte stations. (schneiderelectricparismarathon.com) Each full refreshment area will run about 160 metres and the course plan reduces gaps between stations — with noticeably shorter distances in the second half of the marathon to limit crowding at taps. (schneiderelectricparismarathon.com) Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) will supply pre‑filled hand bottles only to runners targeting sub‑2h50; roughly 1,000 athletes are expected to qualify for that service. (actu.fr) Those elite hand bottles will be collected at dedicated disposal points positioned about 150 metres after aid stations, and runners who fail to deposit them in the collection zones risk disqualification under the organiser’s instructions. (actu.fr) For the wider field, organisers say water will be provided via refill ramps and self‑service fountains placed at regular intervals — the plan calls for nine full stations and four water points roughly every 2.5 kilometres. (actu.fr) Hyundai is the event’s new official mobility partner under a multi‑edition deal and has named Laure Manaudou among its ambassadors for the race; the marathon remains organised by Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.).
