RayNeo Launches Batman AR Glasses
AR company RayNeo unveiled a special Batman Edition of its new RayNeo Air 4 Pro smart glasses at MWC 2026. The new AR glasses became available for purchase on February 27.
The special edition glasses are more than just a branding exercise; they come in two variations, the "Justice Edition" and the "Chaos Edition," reflecting Batman and Joker themes, respectively. The package includes a detachable cowl that snaps onto the frames, allowing users to switch between a standard look and the superhero-inspired aesthetic. Underneath the themed exterior, the glasses boast significant technical specifications. They feature dual Micro-OLED displays that create a virtual screen size equivalent to 201 inches. The display is the world's first in smart glasses to support HDR, offering a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. Audio is handled by a four-speaker system co-tuned by Bang & Olufsen, a notable upgrade from the dual-speaker setup in previous models. The glasses weigh 76 grams and are designed for long-term comfort, with adjustable nose pads and compatibility with prescription lenses. RayNeo is the AR-focused subsidiary of Chinese electronics giant TCL, which has been developing wearable display technology for years. RayNeo was incubated by TCL and spun off as an independent entity in 2021. The company has seen rapid growth, recently securing $143 million in funding from investors that include state-owned telecom giants China Mobile and China Unicom. The standard RayNeo Air 4 Pro is priced at $299, with the Batman editions carrying a premium at $319, though launch discounts are available. This pricing strategy positions the glasses competitively against rivals like the Xreal 1S, which is priced at $449. The AR glasses market is growing, with global shipments seeing a 74.1% year-on-year increase in the third quarter of 2025.
