She pointed to tactics like expert “Ask Me Anything” sessions, moderator support and tightly scoped questions instead of open-ended pitches. Reddit says its communities are “created, run, and populated” by users, and its sitewide rules tell people to “abide by community rules,” “participate authentically,” and not spam or disrupt discussions. Reddit reported more than 100,000 active communities and 116 million daily active unique visitors in its third-quarter 2025 results. In its 2024 “Recommendation Journeys for Products” research, Reddit argued that users turn to the platform for product discovery, consideration and purchase decisions when trust is weak elsewhere online.
