Zion Powers Pelicans Win

Zion Williamson delivered 23 points as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Sacramento Kings 133-123 in a high-scoring affair. The victory showcased New Orleans' offensive firepower with Williamson leading the charge. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum made his much-anticipated return for the Celtics, starting slow but contributing across the board in his season debut.

The Pelicans' victory was a team effort, with Trey Murphy III and Saddiq Bey complementing Williamson's output with 21 and 20 points, respectively. New Orleans dominated on the glass, outrebounding Sacramento 61-49, including 14 offensive rebounds which led to second-chance opportunities. This win marks the Pelicans' second victory over the Kings this season, establishing a clear advantage in their head-to-head matchups. The Sacramento Kings' struggles continue, as this loss marks their ninth consecutive defeat at home and their third straight loss overall. Despite the team's performance, Precious Achiuwa was a bright spot for the Kings, recording an impressive 29 points and 12 rebounds. The team's record now falls to 14-50, the worst in the NBA, intensifying frustrations that led to a tense post-game media session with guard Russell Westbrook. Jayson Tatum's return to the Celtics lineup came after a nearly 10-month absence due to a torn right Achilles tendon suffered in last season's playoffs. In his debut against the Dallas Mavericks, Tatum recorded 15 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists in 27 minutes of play. Despite a slow start, missing his first six shots, Tatum contributed across the board to help the Celtics secure a 120-100 victory.
