Studio Players is staging *Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors* in Upper Montclair through Saturday, May 2, with performances underway this weekend. (studioplayhouse.org) The production runs April 17, 18, 24, 25, May 1 and May 2 at 8 p.m., with matinees on April 19 and April 26 at 3 p.m. Studio Players lists online ticket sales through its BookTix box office. (studioplayhouse.org) Studio Players says the show is directed by Mead Winters and performed at its playhouse at 14 Alvin Place in Montclair. The company’s ticketing site lists the same April 17-May 2 schedule. (newjerseystage.com) (spinc.booktix.com) This version turns Bram Stoker’s vampire story into a farce built on quick changes, wordplay and broad physical comedy. Concord Theatricals, which licenses the script, describes it as a 90-minute parody for five or more actors. (studioplayhouse.org) (concordtheatricals.com) The script is by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen, and other productions of the play have billed it as a five-actor show with dozens of roles. That structure helps explain why community theaters have picked it up quickly after its 2023 Off-Broadway run. (concordtheatricals.com) (greenbergandrosen.com) Studio Players identifies itself as an all-volunteer Montclair company founded in 1937, which puts this production inside the group’s 2025-26 season rather than as a one-off event. The company announced that season last June as part of its long-running focus on affordable local theater. (studioplayhouse.org) The cast listed by Studio Players includes James Perlas as Count Dracula, Jessica Jones as Mina Westfeldt, Nina DiNorscio as Lucy Westfeldt, Jake Cerny as Jonathan Harker and Bob Russell as Dr. Wallace Westfeldt and Renfield. Matt Delhauer, Dylan Myers, Ann Alfano, Tara Spinelli, Alexis Saarela and Evan Dassler-Pardalos fill out the ensemble. (studioplayhouse.org) For Montclair audiences, the immediate window is the remaining April 19 matinee and the final six performances spread across April 24-26 and May 1-2. The company’s box office says tickets are available online and delivered by email. (studioplayhouse.org) (spinc.booktix.com)
