RayNeo Unveils New AR Smart Glasses at MWC
AR wearable company RayNeo unveiled its latest smart glasses, the RayNeo Air 4 Pro, at MWC 2026. The new model, which became available for purchase on February 27, was launched with a special Batman Edition. The release signals continued activity and product maturation in the consumer AR glasses market.
The new glasses feature dual 0.6-inch Micro-OLED displays, creating a virtual screen up to 201 inches. They are the first AR glasses to support HDR10, offering a significant color and contrast upgrade with 10.7 billion colors compared to the 16.77 million in the previous Air 3s Pro model. The visuals are powered by a Vision 4000 processor and boast a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. Audio is a key focus, with four speakers tuned by the renowned Danish brand Bang & Olufsen, an upgrade from the dual speakers in the previous model. The glasses weigh a mere 76 grams and connect via a single USB-C cable for both power and video, making them compatible with a range of devices from smartphones to the Nintendo Switch 2. The special Batman Edition comes in two variants: the "Justice Edition" and the "Chaos Edition," themed after Batman and the Joker, respectively. These limited editions include a detachable lens shade styled after Batman's cowl or the Joker's motif and feature a Batman logo on the temple. RayNeo is the consumer AR brand of Chinese electronics giant TCL, which has been aggressively pushing into the wearable display market. According to Counterpoint Research, RayNeo held a 24% share of the global AR glasses market in the third quarter of 2025. This launch follows a recent funding round where RayNeo raised a reported $143 million from investors, including state-owned telecom giants China Mobile and China Unicom. The standard Air 4 Pro is priced at $299, with the Batman editions costing $319, positioning them competitively against rivals like Xreal. While these glasses function as a wearable display, TCL is also developing standalone AR glasses, with concepts like the RayNeo X3 Pro featuring integrated eSIM and 4G connectivity.
