BLACKPINK Debuts on US Pop
BLACKPINK's "GO" debuted at #40 on US Pop Radio according to Mediabase, marking another crossover moment for the K-pop superstars. The track's immediate radio success shows their continued dominance in bridging Korean and American pop markets.
While BLACKPINK's latest single "GO" has just cracked the Top 40 on U.S. Pop Radio, it's not the group's first foray onto the American airwaves. Their 2020 collaboration with Selena Gomez, "Ice Cream," climbed to number 21 on the Pop Airplay chart and charted for eight weeks. More recently, their 2025 single "Jump" also saw an eight-week run on the same chart, peaking at number 19. The aggressive, dubstep-inspired sound of "GO" marks a significant sonic shift for the group, favoring heavy bass and intense electronic elements. This musical direction follows their 2025 single "Jump," which was noted for its fusion of techno and Eurodance, signaling a deliberate move towards more hard-hitting, club-oriented music. "GO" is the title track from the group's third mini-album, "DEADLINE," which was released on February 27, 2026. The release comes just a month after BLACKPINK concluded their massive "Deadline World Tour" in January 2026, which spanned 81 shows across three continents, playing to over 2 million people. The radio debut also comes at a pivotal time for the quartet. The members renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment in December 2023, but have since established their own individual companies for solo endeavors. With their 10th anniversary approaching in August 2026, industry observers anticipate discussions around their next contract renewal in the latter half of the year.
