Canva and Gamma connectors let ChatGPT convert chats into presentation decks
- OpenAI’s ChatGPT now works with Canva and Gamma so users can turn a chat into editable designs or presentation decks without leaving the conversation, extending ChatGPT from drafting into design output. - Canva said its ChatGPT app can generate, edit, preview, and export designs inside chat, while Gamma says ChatGPT Plus users can create presentations through its connector or Zapier MCP setup. - The rollout adds design tools to ChatGPT’s growing app ecosystem, which OpenAI renamed from “connectors” in December 2025. ChatGPT can now hand work off to Canva and Gamma, letting users turn prompts and chat drafts into editable graphics and slide decks from inside the conversation. (help.openai.com) (www.canva.com) (gamma.app) Canva announced on February 6, 2026 that users can generate, edit, and preview designs in ChatGPT, then open them in Canva for further changes. Canva said the tool supports social posts, documents, and presentation slide decks. (www.canva.com 1) (www.canva.com 2) Canva’s help pages say connected assistants can also autofill templates, search existing Canva files, and export finished work as PDFs or images. Some paid Canva features, including Brand Kit and Magic Resize, are not yet available inside ChatGPT. (www.canva.com 1) (www.canva.com 2) Gamma is pitching a similar path for presentations. Its ChatGPT integration page says ChatGPT Plus users can generate Gamma presentations directly in ChatGPT through Zapier MCP or Gamma’s GPT action. (gamma.app) Gamma’s developer docs describe the underlying product as an API and connector stack that can generate presentations, documents, websites, and social posts from text. Its integrations page says ChatGPT access does not require an API key on Gamma plans. (developers.gamma.app 1) (developers.gamma.app 2) OpenAI’s help center says the company renamed “connectors” to “apps” on December 17, 2025, folding together search-style data connections and tools with interactive interfaces. The change helps explain why Canva appears inside ChatGPT as both a connected tool and a design surface. (help.openai.com) The shift moves ChatGPT beyond drafting text and into producing finished assets that can be shared, edited, or exported. In practice, a meeting recap, product brief, or campaign outline can now become a deck or graphic without copying text across tabs. (www.canva.com) (gamma.app) Box is part of the same push to plug outside tools into AI workflows, but through files rather than design. Box said last month it launched a new Box CLI so developers and agents can securely interact with Box content from the terminal. (blog.box.com) (developer.box.com) Taken together, the additions show ChatGPT acting less like a standalone chatbot and more like a front end for work already spread across documents, files, and design systems.
