LSEG Workspace Enhances Account Security

Security for LSEG Workspace accounts has been updated with new automatic measures to safeguard users. FinancialJuice, a related service, noted the enhancements are designed to ensure user trust and data integrity on the financial platform.

- The security enhancements for LSEG Workspace are part of a broader technology infrastructure upgrade that includes a new identity and access management service to improve performance and resilience. This will enable features like enhanced multi-factor authentication (MFA) and improved password policies. - LSEG Workspace handles a vast amount of sensitive financial information, including real-time market data, company analysis, and economic indicators, making robust security crucial. The platform serves a wide range of financial professionals, from wealth advisors and investment bankers to traders and research analysts. - These security updates are being implemented in a phased approach. The financial industry has been a prime target for cyberattacks, with significant data breaches at major institutions like Equifax and Capital One, often involving the theft of sensitive personal and financial data such as social security and bank account numbers. - As part of its technology strategy, LSEG has partnered with Microsoft to migrate its data infrastructure to the Microsoft Cloud and jointly develop new products. This collaboration is aimed at transforming the user experience by integrating LSEG Workspace with Microsoft Teams and 365 for improved, compliant collaboration. - LSEG is also working with OpenFin, a provider of workspace technology to the financial sector, to simplify the distribution and deployment of the LSEG Workspace platform to customer desktops. This partnership will leverage OpenFin's secure zero-install delivery model, making the platform more easily interoperable with other applications used by financial institutions. - The platform's security is backed by LSEG's certifications in ISO 9001 for Quality Management and ISO 27001 for Information Security Management, which are applied to the IT infrastructure in their major data centers. - For institutional clients, LSEG offers single sign-on (SSO) solutions, and in March 2025, they introduced a Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solution that integrates with a client's corporate identity system, such as Microsoft Entra, to automate user provisioning and enhance security and compliance.
