CyHi Exposes G.O.O.D. Music Drama
Former G.O.O.D. Music affiliate CyHi dropped a six-minute track called 'The G.O.O.D. Ole Days' detailing his fallout with Kanye West's label. The song addresses his relationships with Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, and Pusha T, offering his perspective on past rifts within the collective.
The track itself, "The G.O.O.D Ole Days," originated from recording sessions for Kanye West's famously unreleased 2018 album, "Yandhi," where it was initially titled "All Dreams Real." After years of leaks and snippets, the song was officially repurposed and released by CyHi. In the song, CyHi claims he helped Travis Scott with an album that went 11-times platinum but says he still hasn't been properly compensated. He also expresses frustration with Scott for developing a "habit of letting n****s diss us," a likely reference to Drake's feuds with Kanye West. One of the most serious allegations in the track is that Kanye West "almost fucked around and killed buddy" in reference to Kid Cudi. CyHi suggests this incident is the reason why the two artists' relationship remains "still muddy." Despite the internal conflicts, CyHi speaks highly of former G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T for helping him out. He also expresses a hope that Pusha T and Kanye West can eventually settle their differences. The label's dissolution was spurred by internal conflicts and Kanye's public controversies, which created a rift with Pusha T. CyHi has long been a key lyrical contributor for West, with writing credits on over 30 of his songs. He doesn't view his work as ghostwriting, but rather as a collaborative process common in other genres where multiple writers contribute to a single track. Beyoncé reportedly urged West to sign CyHi after hearing his verse for "So Appalled" during the *My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy* sessions. The end of the G.O.O.D. Music era was formalized around 2022 when the imprint separated from its distributor, Def Jam Records. Pusha T also confirmed he had stepped down as the label's president, citing West's controversial remarks.
