Fred again.. x Daft Punk Collab

A viral collaboration moment between Fred again.. and Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk is being hailed as "top of the century for dance music." The unexpected pairing has electronic music fans buzzing across social media. The collaboration represents a bridge between classic French house and modern UK electronic sounds.

The London performance on February 27, 2026, was the finale of Fred again..'s "USB002" residency at Alexandra Palace. This marked Thomas Bangalter's first UK set in over 18 years, his last being during Daft Punk's 2007 Alive tour at Wireless Festival. Fred again.. revealed on Instagram that the two had been in the studio all week, preparing a unique, one-off show specifically for the final night of the tour. This was the second time the pair had shared a stage. Their first surprise back-to-back set occurred in Paris in October 2025 at the Centre Pompidou. That event was Bangalter's first public DJ set in 16 years and, notably, his first time performing without his iconic robot helmet in 24 years. While their Paris set was lighter on Daft Punk material, the London show heavily featured classics from the duo's catalog. The setlist included "One More Time," which was played twice, "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," "Around the World," and The Weeknd's "Starboy," which was produced by Daft Punk. They also blended Fred's "Billie (Loving Arms)" with Daft Punk's "Digital Love." Since Daft Punk officially disbanded in 2021, Bangalter has largely focused on solo compositions, including an orchestral album titled "Mythologies," and film scores. His recent appearances with Fred again.. signal a rare return to a live electronic music setting for the French house pioneer.
