Seychelles is trending as a relaxation paradise with white sands, turquoise waters, and snorkeling spots. Thailand's Koh Samui, Phi Phi, and Lipe are praised for sands and jungles, while Hurawalhi Maldives offers ultimate unwind with ocean rhythms and special deals.
The Seychelles is experiencing a significant tourism surge, having already surpassed its 2024 visitor arrival numbers by late November 2025 with 354,034 arrivals, a 12% increase from the same period the previous year. The growth is largely driven by European markets like Germany, France, and Russia, which constitute the top three sources of visitors. Beyond its famous beaches, the nation is a global leader in conservation, having been the first country to enshrine environmental protection in its constitution. More than half of its total land area is under natural conservation, a world record, and these efforts are partly supported by a Tourism Environmental Sustainable Levy paid by visitors. The archipelago's protected status supports a unique biodiversity. It is home to the Aldabra Atoll, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a large population of giant tortoises, some of the world's most significant seabird colonies, and over 1,000 species of fish, including the endemic Seychelles anemonefish. The Maldives also saw a record-breaking year in 2025, welcoming over 2.24 million international visitors, a nearly 10% increase from the previous year. China, Russia, and the UK are the leading source markets for tourists, with the country maintaining an average daily arrival of 6,155 visitors throughout the year. This influx is vital to the Maldivian economy, where the tourism industry is the largest contributor to GDP and the biggest employer. The luxury market continues to expand, with several new resorts opening in 2025, including the Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives and dusitD2 Feydhoo. Meanwhile, Thailand's tourism sector is nearing a full recovery, welcoming 32.4 million visitors in 2024 and over 12 million in the first four months of 2025 alone. The industry is a cornerstone of the nation's economy, with tourism revenue directly contributing up to 17.7% of the GDP in recent years. The southern islands remain major draws. Surat Thani province, which includes Koh Samui, and Krabi province, the gateway to the Phi Phi islands, are among the most visited regions in the country. Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi Leh, famed for its limestone cliffs, attracted an estimated 1.8 million people in 2024.
