Pragmata FPS Drops April 17th
Capcom's enigmatic sci-fi shooter Pragmata is now confirmed for April 17th release, with new gameplay revealing a focus on robot threats and dystopian environments. This title promises to blend narrative-driven action with next-gen visuals, adding to 2026's strong FPS lineup.
The journey for Pragmata has been a long one, with the title first being unveiled during Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event back in June 2020. Initially, Capcom had targeted a 2022 release before delaying it to 2023, and then delaying it indefinitely. The project is being developed by a team of Capcom's younger developers, with the company stating that incorporating the "youthful sensibilities of digital natives" will add a new appeal to the intellectual property. The game is being built using Capcom's proprietary RE Engine, with a stated goal of leveraging next-generation technology like ray-tracing to create an immersive sci-fi setting. Set on a dystopian lunar research station, the game follows a spacefarer named Hugh Williams and a young android girl named Diana. Gameplay shown so far reveals a third-person action-adventure where players will need to utilize both characters' abilities to overcome a hostile AI and its robotic forces. Players will control Hugh, who is equipped with firearms and a jetpack, while Diana provides support by hacking into enemy defenses to reveal their weak points. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, and the Nintendo Switch 2. A demo for the game, titled Pragmata: Sketchbook, was previously made available on Steam.
