Outta Sight Pizza Expands to SF Civic Center
Outta Sight Pizza is expanding into a Civic Center dive bar in San Francisco. The pizza maker will take over the space formerly occupied by Shovels. The move marks a new location for the popular local eatery.
- The new establishment will be named Reggie & Maude's, a nod to Reggie Gamble and Maude Spencer, who were prominent leaders in San Francisco's sex workers' rights movement in 1917. - Co-founders Eric Ehler and Peter Dorrance both previously worked at the Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant Mister Jiu's before starting Outta Sight. - Outta Sight began as a pop-up at the Hayes Valley wine shop Fig & Thistle in 2020 before opening its first permanent location in the Tenderloin in 2022. - The brand is known for its New York-style pies with a sturdy, baguette-like crust and offers creative weekly specials. - This will be the third storefront for the owners, who opened a second Outta Sight location in Chinatown in January 2025. - The new bar will focus on serving "top-tier" but affordable bar food, and it is not yet confirmed if their popular pizza will be on the menu. - The space at 460 Larkin Street was most recently Pomeroy Bar and Grill, which rebranded from the Irish pub Shovels in 2025. - The original Outta Sight Pizzeria is listed as one of the San Francisco Chronicle's Top 100 Restaurants in the Bay Area.
