Picsart Launches AI Virtual Influencer Tools

Picsart has launched two new AI tools, Persona & Storyline, designed for creating consistent virtual influencers and characters. The tech allows users to generate video content with these characters without needing a camera, targeting the creator economy.

Picsart's new tools address a key challenge in AI content creation: character consistency. The "Storyline" feature is specifically designed to maintain a character's appearance, including face and clothing, across different scenes and narratives, a common struggle for most current AI video tools. This push targets the growing trend of "faceless" content, allowing creators to build a brand persona without appearing on camera. The launch taps into the booming virtual influencer market, which was valued at over $6 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to more than $111 billion by 2033. Some forecasts are even more aggressive, predicting a market size of nearly $298 billion by 2035. North America currently dominates this market, holding over 42% of the revenue share in 2024. This move by Picsart, a platform with over 130 million monthly active users and 2.5 billion lifetime downloads, places it in direct competition with other AI character generators like Midjourney, Leonardo AI, and OpenArt. While many tools can generate static images, Picsart's focus is on integrating character creation into a streamlined video production workflow. The broader creator economy provides a massive potential user base, having reached an estimated $205 billion in 2026. Projections show it could swell to between $480 billion and over $1.3 trillion by the early 2030s. AI adoption is already rampant within this community, with studies indicating that 84% of creators were using AI tools in 2024. These virtual personas are not just for independent creators; major brands like Maybelline, Prada, and Samsung have already utilized virtual influencers for product promotion. Research suggests that virtual influencers can generate up to three times more engagement on platforms like Instagram and TikTok compared to their human counterparts for the same investment. Picsart's CEO, Hovhannes Avoyan, notes that the tools are for anyone who is camera-shy, values privacy, or simply wants creative freedom without the pressure of being the face of their brand. The platform aims to democratize this trend by providing access to advanced AI models like VEO 3.1 and Kling 3.0, automatically selecting the best model for the user's task.
