Feed More and Puritan Cleaners are asking Richmond-area residents to help fund or donate 100,000 meals for Central Virginia families over a two-week drive that runs from April 26 to May 9. (feedmore.org) The campaign collects nonperishable food and cash donations at Puritan Cleaners locations and through the company’s home-delivery service, with all proceeds going to Feed More. WTVR reported the partners launched the public push on April 21. (feedmore.org; wtvr.com) Feed More says the spring drive is aimed at children and teens in particular, with an estimated 1 in 6 children in Central Virginia struggling with hunger. The group says each $5 donated helps provide 20 meals through its food and grocery partnerships. (feedmore.org; feedmore.org) The push lands as Feed More remains one of the region’s main hunger-relief hubs, serving Central Virginia through a network of partner agencies, prepared-meal programs and direct assistance. The organization says it distributes more than 39 million pounds of food across the region using more than 20 trucks and 100,000 square feet of storage space. (feedmore.org) That network has become more visible during recent strains on household food budgets. In October 2025, Richmond, Chesterfield and Henrico said they were working with Feed More and its 380 partners to protect food access for residents affected by disruptions to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. (rva.gov) For people who need food now, Feed More operates an online agency locator and help line that connect residents to pantries, mobile distributions, Meals on Wheels and other programs. The 211 Virginia listing says callers can also get help with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Women, Infants, and Children referrals. (feedmore.org; 211virginia.org) Puritan Cleaners says its annual 100K Meals campaign has been running for years and is nearing 2 million meals collected in total. This year’s drive gives Richmond residents until May 9 to add to that tally. (puritancleaners.com; feedmore.org)
