CLAY LA returns to Los Angeles this weekend, turning Craft Contemporary into a three-day ceramic market and museum fundraiser from April 24 to April 26. (craftcontemporary.org) The event is at Craft Contemporary, 5814 Wilshire Blvd., with a ticketed preview night on Friday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and public market hours on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (craftcontemporary.org) Preview night costs $20 for the general public and $15 for members, while Saturday is included with $9 museum admission and Sunday is pay-what-you-wish. PBS SoCal lists the event in its April 20–26 arts calendar with prices ranging from $0 to $20. (craftcontemporary.org) (pbssocal.org) This year is the ninth edition of CLAY LA, and Craft Contemporary describes it as its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser. The museum says the event supports its ceramics programming, workshops, sales and exhibitions. (craftcontemporary.org) Ceramics here means clay shaped by hand or wheel and hardened by heat, and CLAY LA is built around buying those finished works directly from the artists who made them. Craft Contemporary says the market brings together emerging and established ceramic artists from across Los Angeles. (craftcontemporary.org) The 2026 lineup includes more than two dozen makers, including Angel Prudencio, Chunmei Ceramics, FHAR Studio, Greg Lowe Arts, Hugh Remar Los Angeles, People’s Pottery Project, Tierra del Sol and Yunting Ceramics. The museum says visitors can meet artists in person while shopping in the outdoor courtyard. (craftcontemporary.org) The weekend also includes free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with materials donated by Laguna Clay & Glaze Co. Beverly Press reported that the public program will also include music plus food and drink vendors. (craftcontemporary.org) (beverlypress.com) Collectors who buy preview tickets get early access to the market and one complimentary opportunity-drawing ticket at entry. Additional drawing entries cost $5 each, and Craft Contemporary says winners will be contacted on April 29 and must pick up prizes in person at the museum. (craftcontemporary.org) PBS SoCal included CLAY LA among its recommended events for the week, placing it on a crowded Southern California calendar that also features festivals, screenings and open studios on April 24 and April 25. For Craft Contemporary, the weekend doubles as both a public market and a fundraising push tied to its year-round craft programming. (pbssocal.org) (craftcontemporary.org) By Sunday afternoon, the sales floor shifts from first-look access to pay-what-you-wish entry, closing out the weekend with the same pitch it opened on: buy local ceramics, meet the makers and help fund the museum hosting them.
