Apple just unleashed a massive hardware refresh, including a new entry-level $599 MacBook Neo with an A18 Pro chip, M5-powered MacBook Air and Pro models, and new Studio Displays. The new MacBook Neo's A18 Pro chip is based on the same 64-bit ARMv9.2-A architecture as the M4 series, essentially making it a variation of the M4 with fewer CPU and GPU cores. This strategy allows Apple to leverage an existing, powerful chip design for a new, budget-friendly laptop, enhancing manufacturing efficiency.
