Zoomlion Starts 2026 With $1.2B in Shipments
Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology announced a strong start to the year, with US$1.2 billion in global equipment shipments. The company delivered over 15,000 units to customers across more than 40 international markets. The announcement signals robust global demand for heavy machinery.
This strong start to 2026 builds on a significant global push in 2025, when Zoomlion's overseas revenue accounted for over 55% of its total business in the first half of the year. During that period, international revenue hit 13.815 billion yuan, a 15% year-over-year increase. The company's strategy focuses on an end-to-end, digitized, and localized business system. This has led to the establishment of new subsidiaries in markets like Malaysia, Nigeria, and Oman, alongside new service warehouses and outlets in the UK, Germany, Turkey, and Peru. To support this expansion, Zoomlion is investing in a smart factory in Hungary and expanding its German facility, aiming to create a European production capacity of nearly 10 billion yuan. This aligns with its goal to grow international business to as much as 40% of total turnover. Zoomlion's machinery is being deployed in major international projects, including Egypt's El Dabaa nuclear power plant, the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco for the 2030 World Cup, and Saudi Arabia's NEOM smart city project. In Saudi Arabia alone, sales surged by over 170% year-on-year by the end of November 2023. Beyond its traditional stronghold in concrete and crane machinery, the company is diversifying into mining equipment, agricultural machinery, and aerial work platforms. Revenue from earthmoving machinery grew 22% in the first half of 2025. The global heavy equipment market is projected to reach between $205 billion and $242 billion by the end of 2026. Industry-wide trends include a shift toward electrification and the integration of telematics for real-time performance monitoring. Zoomlion is also investing heavily in next-generation technology, focusing on AI, cloud computing, and IoT. The company is actively developing humanoid robots and building an intelligent training ground, signaling a strategic push towards smart manufacturing.
