Iberia launches record summer

Spain’s Iberia announced its biggest summer schedule ever — over 21 million seats and new transatlantic and intra‑European routes launching March 29, 2026. The expansion is pitched as a major capacity boost to U.S., Canada, Latin America and European travel corridors for summer bookings (travelandtourworld.com).

Iberia will start five‑times‑weekly nonstop service between Madrid and Toronto Pearson from June 13, 2026, marking the carrier’s first direct link to Canada and to be operated with A321XLR equipment on the seasonal schedule. (agencias.iberia.com) Madrid–Monterrey launches on June 2, 2026 with three weekly A330‑200 flights (Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays) as Iberia deepens its presence in Mexico. (agencias.iberia.com) Two new European seasonal routes were added: Madrid–Bucharest (two weekly services from June 3 to Sept 30, 2026) and Madrid–Tivat (twice weekly, running mid‑July to mid‑September). (iberia.com) Iberia plans to deploy 1,280,254 seats to the U.S. and Canada with up to 166 weekly transatlantic frequencies, including a new daily Madrid–Newark A321XLR that complements existing JFK services. (iberia.com) The airline will offer roughly 3.35 million seats between Europe and Latin America with up to 366 weekly transatlantic flights; Buenos Aires will peak at a historic 23 weekly frequencies (about 456,000 seats on the MAD–EZE corridor). (aviation24.be) Iberia says the network growth is being enabled by A321XLR deployments for thinner transatlantic markets and forms part of its broader Flight Plan 2030 expansion program.
