Chelsea FC Selects IFS as Principal Partner

Industrial AI software provider IFS has announced a multi-year global partnership with Chelsea Football Club. As part of the agreement, IFS will become the club's Principal Partner. Chelsea will leverage IFS's AI technology to enhance its performance both on and off the pitch.

- The IFS partnership will see the company as Chelsea's front-of-shirt sponsor for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, after which they will transition to a global partner role until 2028. - This deal follows a period without a permanent principal sponsor for Chelsea since their partnership with telecommunications company Three ended in 2023. The club had short-term agreements with Infinite Athlete and DAMAC in the interim. - While financial terms of the IFS deal have not been released, Chelsea has been seeking a long-term front-of-shirt sponsorship valued at approximately £60 million per year. - The collaboration will involve embedding IFS's AI technology across the club's operations to support performance analysis, operational processes, and strategic planning. - Other Premier League clubs are also leveraging AI; for instance, West Ham United has partnered with Amazon Web Services to build an AI-driven talent identification platform. - For fan engagement, AI is being used in the Premier League to create personalized content, with one club seeing a 64% increase in app engagement after implementing AI-powered highlight packages. - The Premier League itself has a five-year partnership with Microsoft to use its Azure AI and cloud technologies to enhance fan experiences and modernize digital platforms. - IFS specializes in "Industrial AI," which focuses on solving complex operational problems, suggesting the partnership will heavily target improving efficiency behind the scenes at the club.
