Confluence adds visual AI

Atlassian is turning Confluence from a document tool into a place you can generate visuals and call agent helpers directly inside the doc, shrinking the gap between briefing and first-draft assets. The update includes native visual-AI features plus support for third-party agents from companies like Lovable, Replit and Gamma — a signal that brief-to-asset workflows are being compressed inside collaboration tools. That changes where creative work begins: the same page where a product brief lives can now spawn initial visuals and automated assistance. (techcrunch.com)

Atlassian just moved Confluence one step closer to being the place where work starts and the first draft of the output gets made too. On April 8, 2026, it said Confluence pages can now spawn charts, infographics, diagrams, prototypes, apps, and presentations from the same source document. (techcrunch.com) Confluence has long been the page where teams write product briefs, meeting notes, and plans. The usual next step was copying that text into a design tool, a slide builder, or a coding tool to make something people could actually use. (atlassian.com 1) (atlassian.com 2) Atlassian’s new feature is called Remix, and it is rolling out in open beta to Confluence Cloud customers that have Rovo, the company’s artificial intelligence product. At launch, Remix can turn a page into data visualizations, infographics, diagrams, and charts, with more formats promised later. (atlassian.com) (finance.yahoo.com) The pitch is simple: instead of asking a designer to turn a status update into a chart, the page does the first pass itself. TechCrunch reported that Remix recommends the visual format that fits the information and creates the asset without sending the user into another app. (techcrunch.com) Atlassian also added three partner agents inside Confluence using Model Context Protocol, which is a standard for letting artificial intelligence tools connect to outside software with context intact. Those agents tie Confluence to Lovable for prototypes, Replit for starter apps, and Gamma for presentation materials. (techcrunch.com) (atlassian.com) That means a product requirement document can now jump straight into a rough app or a slide deck without the old copy-and-paste handoff. Atlassian said the partner agents are pre-built, so teams do not need to wire up custom integrations before trying the workflow. (atlassian.com) (finance.yahoo.com) This did not come out of nowhere. Atlassian made Atlassian Intelligence generally available across products in December 2023, and by 2025 it was saying Rovo was being used by more than 1 million users each month. (atlassian.com 1) (atlassian.com 2) The timing also lines up with Team ’26, Atlassian’s flagship customer conference, where the company has been pushing “AI-human collaboration” as the next layer on top of its workplace software. In that frame, Confluence is no longer just a wiki page with better formatting; it is turning into the control panel that hands work to generators and agents. (atlassian.com 1) (atlassian.com 2) The bigger shift is where the first usable artifact gets created. If the brief, the draft visual, the starter app, and the presentation all begin from the same Confluence page, then the document stops being a record of work and starts being the factory floor for it.
