Pricer Launches New In-Store Retail Platform

Retail technology firm Pricer is showcasing its new Pricer Avenue™ platform at the EuroShop 2026 trade show in Germany. The company describes the product as an innovative communications platform. It is designed to deliver high-impact experiences at the shelf-edge for prioritized areas of a retail store.

- Pricer's new platform is a strategic shift away from store-wide electronic shelf label (ESL) rollouts; instead, it targets high-margin areas like premium aisles and promotional zones for a bigger impact on sales. - The system is battery-free, with both power and connectivity supplied through the mounting rail, which can be customized with different finishes and branding elements. This design reduces environmental impact by eliminating battery waste and supports future integrations of IoT devices and sensors. - A key feature is the "Floating Canvas," which allows multiple slim-bezel ESLs to be linked together to create larger, seamless digital displays for richer brand storytelling. - The launch follows a period of declining earnings for Pricer, which saw a -23.2% average annual rate of decline over the past five years, and a significant drop in net income in the most recent fiscal year. - Pricer is led by President and CEO Magnus Larsson, who was appointed in December 2022 after serving as acting CEO. - The overall electronic shelf label market is projected to grow significantly, with one forecast predicting an increase from USD 1.97 billion in 2025 to USD 3.78 billion by 2030. - Pricer's main competitor is VusionGroup (formerly SES-imagotag), among others like Displaydata and ZKONG in the in-store digital solutions market. - The introduction of Pricer Avenue™ integrates with Pricer Plaza, the company's cloud-based management platform, which is already used in over 6,000 stores.
