Hong Kong's Street Art Hotspots

Hong Kong's street art hotspots like Graham Street (Alex) and Hollywood Road (Rob Sketcherman) are praised.

Alex Croft's mural on Graham Street, often called the "Instagram Wall," depicts old Hong Kong-style tenement buildings inspired by the Kowloon Walled City. Croft, who started in graffiti and street art in 2004 with the crew T4C (Time For Change), was influenced by artists like REKA, Yok, and COPE2. The Graham Street mural has become a favorite spot for tourists. Rob Sketcherman, known for his iPad urban sketches, created an 11-meter-tall mural of Hollywood icons on Hollywood Road outside the Madera Hollywood hotel. Sketcherman's work captures Hong Kong's everyday scenes, and he was commissioned by Moleskine to chronicle the 39th Hong Kong International Film Festival. He also uses time-lapses to show his artistic process. HKwalls, founded by Stan Wu and Jason Dembski in 2014, helped jump-start Hong Kong's street art movement by providing a platform for artists. The festival supports murals by various artists in partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
