Conejo Hosts 39th Annual Craft Festival
The Conejo Recreation and Park District is hosting its long-running Spring Art & Crafts Festival, now in its 39th year. The event showcases a wide range of local artisans and handmade goods, making it a prime destination for unique, locally crafted items. The festival's longevity demonstrates sustained community interest in supporting local makers and traditional crafts.
This year's festival will be held at the Borchard Community Center in Newbury Park, a venue that has been part of the Conejo Recreation and Park District's offerings since the 30-acre park was acquired in February 1969. The event is free to the public and will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine. More than 100 artisans and craftspeople are expected to showcase their unique creations. In previous years, the festival has featured a wide array of handmade items, including jewelry, ceramics, paintings, and textiles, offering a diverse selection of original artwork. The event's host, the Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD), has been a cornerstone of the community since its establishment in 1962. The district manages over 50 parks and recreation facilities, providing a wide range of programs and events for the nearly 140,000 residents of the Conejo Valley. Beyond offering a marketplace for local artists, the festival serves to strengthen community bonds by fostering a shared appreciation for local talent and creativity. These types of events have been shown to have a positive economic impact by encouraging residents to shop locally and support small businesses and independent artisans. The festival will also feature a children's activity area and a variety of refreshments for purchase, making it a family-friendly outing. While vendor spaces for the 2026 event are full, interested artists can be placed on an interest list for the following year. The CRPD also organizes other community events, including "Bark in the Park" and a "Family Roller Skate Night."
