Kris Van Assche Debut
Kris Van Assche makes his Milan Design Week debut with bronze sculptures and a ceramics collection created with Serax — a clear stretch from fashion into collectible design timed for MDW (April 14–19). (hypebeast.com)
The show is titled “Nectar Vessels Bronzes” and will be presented at Fondazione Sozzani on Via Enrico Tazzoli during Milan’s design program (Fondazione Sozzani confirmed the site and schedule). The bronze serieS is presented in partnership with Laffanour | Galerie Downtown, a collaboration that follows an earlier gallery presentation in Paris and frames the works as collectible sculptural vases. Galerie Downtown’s catalogue and press coverage state the group comprises a defined set of pieces created as a single project rather than loose editions — the Paris run referenced 14 individual bronze forms. His Serax collaboration appears under the name Rosamar and is listed on Serax’s official site as a line of sculptural stoneware planters and pots with a square base and architectural silhouette intended for indoor greenery. Van Assche described the installation concept as a “pink garden” in which the bronze pieces emerge like flowers, an approach positioned as a contemplative counterpoint to the busy Salone calendar; Fondazione Sozzani and press interviews detail that scenography.
