TMNT Magic Cards Launch
Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover is launching with prerelease events starting soon. Wizards published official prerelease guides and release notes featuring classic characters like Splinter and the Foot Clan with thematic abilities capturing the TMNT spirit.
- The global tabletop release for the set is scheduled for March 6, 2026, with a digital release on *Magic: The Gathering Arena* happening slightly earlier on March 3, 2026. - In addition to standard Play and Collector Boosters, a unique "Pizza Bundle" will be released on March 27. This bundle includes various boosters, special pizza-themed basic lands, and two of six possible pizza-themed promo cards. - A five-color pre-constructed Commander deck titled "Turtle Power!" is part of the product lineup, designed to let players team up with their favorite characters. There is also a cooperative play product that allows up to four players to battle against a pre-built enemy deck featuring Shredder. - The set features several special art treatments, including "Japan Showcase" cards with art inspired by Japanese artists, "Pixel Showcase" cards reminiscent of TMNT video games, and rare "Headliner" cards featuring art by original TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. - This crossover is part of Magic's "Universes Beyond" series, which has previously included properties like *The Lord of the Rings*, *Doctor Who*, and *Fallout*. - A series of limited-edition "Secret Lair" drops with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themes are also being released, featuring characters like the Mighty Mutanimals and villains in a "VHS Villains" style. These drops offer alternate art versions of existing Magic cards. - The set will introduce new game mechanics, such as "sneak" and "Mutagen tokens," to capture the theme of the franchise. - This is not the first time the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been featured in a trading card game; they had their own short-lived TCG in 2004.
