CLAY LA opens Friday, April 24, with a three-day ceramic market and fundraiser at Craft Contemporary on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. (craftcontemporary.org) The 2026 edition is the event’s ninth, and the museum says it brings together emerging and established ceramic artists from across Los Angeles. The paid Preview Night runs Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 5814 Wilshire Blvd. (craftcontemporary.org) Preview Night tickets are $20 for the general public and $15 for members, and the museum says the evening includes complimentary refreshments, music and first access to shop vendors in the outdoor courtyard. Each ticket also includes one opportunity-drawing entry. (craftcontemporary.org) The public market follows on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with entry included in the museum’s $9 admission. Sunday, April 26, runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a pay-what-you-wish basis. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary bills CLAY LA as its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser, which ties the shopping event directly to the museum’s programs. PBS SoCal included the preview night in its weekly arts picks for April 20-26. (craftcontemporary.org) (pbssocal.org) The museum says hundreds of artists have participated over the years and thousands of visitors have supported local makers through its ceramics programming, workshops, sales and exhibitions. It also links this year’s market to its upcoming fourth clay biennial, “tierra.” (craftcontemporary.org) This year’s vendor list includes more than two dozen names, including Angel Prudencio, Chunmei Ceramics, FHAR Studio, Greg Lowe Arts, People’s Pottery Project, Sergio Noe Studio and Tierra del Sol. The lineup mixes individual studios with community-based projects. (craftcontemporary.org) The weekend also includes free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., using material donated by Laguna Clay & Glaze Co. The museum says additional opportunity-drawing tickets will be sold in person for $5 each during the market. (craftcontemporary.org) For Los Angeles shoppers, the draw is straightforward: meet the makers, buy work directly and do it during a museum fundraiser that lasts only through Sunday afternoon. Winners in the opportunity drawing will be contacted on April 29 and must pick up prizes in person at the museum. (craftcontemporary.org)
