Mike Sommerfeld's Arnold Prep Revealed

Top bodybuilder Mike Sommerfeld shared his final push-day workout less than a week before defending his title at the 2026 Arnold Classic. The high-volume, high-intensity sequence targets chest, shoulders, and triceps with progressive overload as the show approaches. Sommerfeld enters as the clear favorite after finishing runner-up to Chris Bumstead at 2024 Mr. Olympia.

Sommerfeld is the defending Arnold Classic Physique champion, having captured his first title at the event in 2025. That victory set the stage for a new era in the division following the retirement of six-time Mr. Olympia Chris Bumstead. With Bumstead's departure, a power vacuum emerged at the top of the sport. At the 2025 Mr. Olympia, Ramon Rocha Queiroz claimed the vacant throne, with Sommerfeld once again securing the runner-up position in a tightly contested battle. To defend his Arnold title, Sommerfeld will face a stacked lineup that includes 2024 Arnold Classic winner Wesley Vissers and the highly anticipated professional debut of social media phenom Sam Sulek. The German-born bodybuilder, who now resides in Dubai, is a second-generation competitor; his father, Uwe Sommerfeld, was also an IFBB athlete. Mike Sommerfeld began his own pro career in the 212 division before finding his home in Classic Physique. Seeking every possible edge, Sommerfeld recently trained with renowned 'Hypertrophy Coach' Joe Bennett. Bennett was famously part of Chris Bumstead's team, helping him prepare for his dominant Olympia title defenses.
