Bieberchella Took Over

Justin Bieber made his Coachella headlining debut on April 11 and many outlets framed the day around his set, with live coverage and previews discussing start time, setlist expectations, and possible surprise guests. Local and national writeups labeled the weekend 'Bieberchella' and previewed his appearance and potential cameos (latimes.com) (pressenterprise.com) (timeout.com).

Justin Bieber turned Coachella’s first Saturday into a Bieber-led event, headlining the festival on April 11 at 11:25 p.m. Pacific time in Indio. (variety.com) Coachella’s official 2026 schedule lists Weekend 1 on April 10-12 and Weekend 2 on April 17-19, with Bieber booked for both Saturday nights at the Empire Polo Club. Billboard reported that fans could also watch his set on Coachella’s YouTube livestream. (coachella.com) (billboard.com) Before the festival, Bieber previewed the performance at an invite-only Roxy Theater show in West Hollywood on March 29. Rolling Stone said it was his first United States concert in four years, and Billboard said The Roxy holds about 500 people. (rollingstone.com) (billboard.com) That warmup show pointed to a Coachella set built around Bieber’s 2025 albums *Swag* and *Swag II*. Rolling Stone said he played 25 songs at the Roxy, and Variety reported expectations that he could bring that same 25-song, two-album structure to the desert. (rollingstone.com) (variety.com) The April 11 set also delivered the surprise-guest element that had surrounded the build-up. Rolling Stone reported that Bieber brought out the Kid Laroi for “Stay” and later brought Dijon onstage during the headlining performance. (rollingstone.com) Bieber’s Coachella slot had been a major festival storyline since the lineup reveal in late 2025. Billboard and Variety both reported six months ago that Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G were among the 2026 headliners. (billboard.com) (variety.com) The attention around his Saturday slot also reflected the scale of Coachella itself. Variety reported that set times were watched closely by both festivalgoers and home viewers, while Coachella promoted seven simultaneous YouTube stage streams for April 10-12 and April 17-19. (variety.com) (coachella.com) Weekend 1 continues through Sunday, and Bieber is scheduled to do it again on April 18 for Weekend 2. After a week of previews, secret-show clips and guest speculation, the first Saturday in the desert played out on his clock. (coachella.com) (billboard.com)
