Manitoba opened its 2026 provincial park reservation system this week, with campsite bookings rolling out in stages from April 13 through April 17 at 7 a.m. each day. (manitoba.ca) The province’s reservation page says Monday, April 13, was for cabins, yurts and group use areas, while Tuesday, April 14, opened campsite bookings at Birds Hill, Winnipeg Beach and Grand Beach. (manitoba.ca) Wednesday, April 15, is for Whiteshell Provincial Park campgrounds, and Thursday, April 16, covers northern and western region campgrounds including Spruce Woods, Duck Mountain and Paint Lake. Friday, April 17, opens bookings for the remaining campground locations. (manitoba.ca) Manitoba Parks says the reservation service covers campsites, cabins, yurts and group-use areas at 46 locations. The booking portal is live now through the province’s online reservation system. (manitoba.ca; manitoba.goingtocamp.com) The staggered schedule is not new, but it remains central to how Manitoba manages the annual rush for summer sites at high-demand parks near Winnipeg and in Whiteshell. Local reports said the province again spread openings across five days to ease demand on the system. (winnipegfreepress.com; portageonline.com) This year’s booking season also comes with at least one policy change: a new $10 reservation cancellation fee. DiscoverWestman reported Manitoba introduced the fee to offset costs and discourage speculative bookings that tie up campsites other campers might use. (discoverwestman.com) The province is also advertising park access as free until April 30, 2026, even though camping fees still apply. Manitoba’s fee page says vehicle permits are not required before that date. (manitoba.ca) For campers, the practical timeline is now narrow: the marquee beach campgrounds opened April 14, Whiteshell opens April 15, and the last batch of provincial sites opens April 17. The reservation page says all openings begin at 7 a.m., which is when the annual summer planning scramble usually starts. (manitoba.ca)
