Victorinox Partners with Food Giant JBS
Victorinox, the maker of the original Swiss Army Knife, has formed a strategic partnership with JBS USA, one of the world's largest food companies. The two industry leaders will work together to improve operational performance and yield optimization, uniting Swiss precision with large-scale food processing.
The partnership aims to equip JBS USA's more than 109,500 team members across dozens of production facilities. Headquartered in Greeley, Colorado, JBS USA is a leading global processor of beef, pork, and poultry with reported net sales of $48.8 billion in 2021. While famous for its pocket knives, Victorinox is a major force in professional cutlery, producing over 90,000 household and professional knives daily. The company is considered a key player in the global kitchen knife market, which was valued at over $2.11 billion in 2025. "Yield optimization" is critical to profitability in the meat industry, focusing on maximizing the amount of sellable product from raw materials while minimizing waste. Improved yields are achieved by enhancing raw material control, reducing floor waste from mis-cuts, and optimizing processing procedures. The collaboration will involve creating new products specifically for modern food processing facilities. By combining JBS's large-scale operational data with Victorinox's manufacturing expertise, the goal is to create more durable and precise tools that reduce waste and improve efficiency during cutting and deboning. This agreement establishes a direct purchasing relationship between the two companies. Victorinox will manage logistics and inventory for individual JBS plants from its 90,000-square-foot distribution center in Monroe, Connecticut, aiming to maximize the lifetime value of every knife. The partnership is part of a broader push for operational excellence at JBS, which has also been investing in modernizing its enterprise software and production facilities to improve data management and streamline processes.
