Chelsea FC partners with IFS for AI

Chelsea Football Club has selected industrial AI software provider IFS as a global principal partner. The multi-year agreement, announced on February 20th, will see the London-based club use IFS's AI technology to enhance performance both on and off the pitch.

- The multi-year agreement elevates IFS to "Principal Partner" status, with its logo featured on the front of Chelsea's shirts for the rest of the 2025/26 season. This deal extends beyond a typical sponsorship, embedding IFS's technology into the club's core operations. - IFS specializes in "Industrial AI" for enterprise resource planning (ERP), asset management (EAM), and field service management (FSM), targeting sectors like manufacturing, energy, and aerospace with clients such as Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Saudi Electricity Company. - The partnership aims to leverage IFS's AI agents to enhance precision in areas like performance analysis, operational efficiency, and fan engagement, connecting data across people and assets in real-time. - This collaboration mirrors a trend in enterprise software where CTOs are tasked with integrating AI to drive business strategy, moving from hands-on coding in early stages to focusing on technical vision, team scaling, and stakeholder communication in growth-stage companies. - In the adtech sector, AI is crucial for automating programmatic ad buying, optimizing real-time bidding, and personalizing creative content, which are key areas for improving campaign ROI and efficiency. - London's tech scene remains a strong hub for high-growth startups, with AI companies raising a record $3.5 billion in VC funding in 2024, making it the top AI hub in Europe. - In Formula 1, the upcoming 2026 season features a significant technical regulation overhaul, increasing reliance on electrical energy and prompting teams like Red Bull Ford Powertrains to adopt advanced manufacturing technologies for their new hybrid power units. During 2026 pre-season testing, teams like Ferrari have already been spotted testing innovative new designs, such as a rotating rear wing.
