AI Fitness Platform Goes Video-First

Hyperhuman launched an AI-powered content infrastructure for health and fitness that enables creators to design, personalize, and publish fitness video content across apps and screens. The platform's AI engine streamlines video creation for trainers, gyms, and brands, making personalized workouts more accessible. This "video-first" approach signals a major shift in how fitness content is produced and consumed.

The Bucharest-based startup was founded in 2020 by CEO Bogdan Predusca, Dan Nica, and David Teodorescu. Predusca and Teodorescu are both alumni of Fitbit, with Predusca having served as a product leader and Teodorescu as a senior product designer. This experience in the digital health and fitness industry provided the founding team with insights into the challenges of creating personalized fitness content at scale. Hyperhuman has secured funding from several investment rounds, including a €500,000 pre-seed round in December 2020 led by Early Game Ventures, with participation from Sparking Capital and Simple Capital. This was followed by a €700,000 late-seed round in March 2022, also led by Sparking Capital and joined by Early Game Ventures. The platform's proprietary AI technology is designed to streamline the video production process significantly. It can automatically break down longer workout videos into individual reusable exercise clips, a feature that aims to reduce production time from weeks to minutes. The AI can also generate multilingual voiceovers and automatically create teasers for social media. This "video-first" approach is part of a broader trend in the fitness industry, which saw a massive shift towards online and hybrid models following the COVID-19 pandemic. The global online fitness market is projected to grow significantly, increasing the demand for high-quality, scalable video content. Hyperhuman's technology is positioned to address this demand by making video production more accessible and affordable for fitness creators and businesses. Looking ahead, the company plans to further develop its AI capabilities to include features like posture analysis and real-time video customization based on user biometrics and feedback. This aligns with the industry trend of hyper-personalization, where workouts are increasingly tailored to individual user data. The ultimate goal is to make fitness content universally accessible and reusable, allowing for a highly customized and effective user experience.
