BBC Murder Mystery Returns

The BBC and Netflix announced Season 2 of a widely praised crime drama hailed as the 'best murder mystery show in years.' Based on bestselling novels, the series has built a strong following for intricate plotting and richly drawn characters, with fans eagerly awaiting new twists and red herrings.

The series, titled "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder," is based on the bestselling young adult novel of the same name by Holly Jackson. The first season, which premiered in the summer of 2024, was a massive success, hitting #1 on Netflix's Global Top 10 TV chart for English-language series. The show's popularity also led to a resurgence in sales for the source material, with Holly Jackson's novel returning to the top of the New York Times Bestseller list. The adaptation was developed by Moonage Pictures and the German public broadcaster ZDFneo for BBC Three. Leading the cast is Emma Myers, known for her role in "Wednesday," who plays the teenage sleuth Pip Fitz-Amobi. Zain Iqbal stars opposite her as Ravi Singh. Both actors are set to reprise their roles in the second season. The second season will adapt the sequel novel, "Good Girl, Bad Blood." Author Holly Jackson is also joining the writing team for the new season, which was officially renewed in November 2024. The upcoming season will see Pip and her friends investigating the disappearance of a friend's brother as a trial from the first season's case approaches. New cast members for season two include Misia Butler, Eden H. Davies, and Jack Rowan. Filming for the second season took place throughout 2025, with a release confirmed for sometime in 2026. The new season will consist of six episodes, the same as the first.
